Is Failure a Bad Thing?

It is quite usual that one meets failures, for one's life can never be plain sailing. However, diffhrent people hold diffhrent attitudes towards failure. Some people think it a heavy blow to fail in achieving something and they can not endure failure. When they meet failure, they will be seriously dejected and can never pluck up their courage to try again. However, others think it natural to meet failures in one's career. Therefore, they are psychologically prepared. When they meet failures, they will not be frustrated. Instead, they will continue to meet new challenges. As to me, I'm in favor of the latter view. Failure is really a terrible thing but it is also the mother of success. If one draws lessons from failures, in most cases he will get success in the future. Furthermore, one's life can never be smooth sailing; it must be full of difficuhies and setbacks. If one is daunted by difficuhies and frustrations, he will always be a failure. However, if one holds a positive attitude toward failure, he will overcome difficulties and frustrations to win victory.

Failure is not Necessarily Bad

As we all realized that every one of us will fail during our life. Take me for an example, I fail in my exam. In fact, failure always does appear, which also means that failure is a daily occurrence, however, when facing the failure, different people have different attitudes.

Some people hold the view that failure is the meaning whenever they could not be successful. Thus, if meeting with failure, they will feel so nervous that they have no idea what they are supposed to do. As time goes by, they become more and more dispirited while eventually, they could do nothing well.

On the contrary, there are some people tending to believe another idea. From their point of view, failure is outstanding due to the fact that it can give them plenty of encouragement. Therefore, if facing failure, they will be quite courageous and then try their best to beat it, finally, they make their dream come true.

From my perspective, failure is neither an excellent thing nor an appreciating thing. Sometimes, it is capable to offer us with encouragement, however, it can also make us unconfident now and then. Thus, if encountering the failure, never could we be scared. What we should do is to face it bravely and never give up.

In summary, I wish when failure appears, each one of us could confront with it bravely and beat it, if possible.

Is the Loneliness a Bad Thing?

According to some social surveys, we can see that theonly child in most Chinese families feels lonely in some ways. Why the onlychild feels lonely? Is loneliness a terrible thing?

Compared with the western, the Chinese children areshyer in communication, which is a reason to make them lack of friends andcompanies. On the other hand, as the only child in the family, they can’t enjoythe happiness from brother or sister. When they meet some troubles, they haveto deal with them by themselves; they can’t get help from their family fellows. Therefore, compared with the children who have brother or sister, the onlychild would feel lonelier.

However, is loneliness completely a bad thing?Obviously, the answer is no, because loneliness also can bring something goodfor them. It is reported that the only child possesses more advantages thanother children in personality and in thought.

Firstly, the only child is more independent in personality.Lacking of help from others, they are used to dealing with all kinds of thingsby themselves as much as possible. Thus, the only child would be moreindependent in life and they can endure more setbacks and pressure. Inaddition, when they leave their parents and start to live alone, they would meetfewer difficulties. But the precondition is that they don’t rely on theirparents deeply.

Moreover, theonly child has wider horizon than others. As the only kid in the family, they can enjoy better conditions in lifeor in education, and they have more opportunities to get in touch with freshthings and accept higher education. In this premise, loneliness gives them moretime and space to think after study. As the saying goes, genius is the productof the loneliness. Einstein is a good example. Therefore, on the one hand, theonly child feels lonely. But at the same time, one can enjoy loneliness whenthinking. Loneliness brings more chances to think of meaning about life andfuture.

In a word, the only child feels lonely but also canget some benefits. Learning to enjoy loneliness, one would be easier to tastethe real life.

It was a sunny day, and I sat under a tree with a story book in my hand. When I open the book, a childish voice entered my ears, “Sister Hui, Play games with me, OK?” It was the daughter of my neighbors, she was only four years. “I am sorry, Xiao Mei. I have to read the book. Go there and play with yourself, OK?”

Maybe half an hour later, Xiao Mei’s grandma came and asked in impatiently, “Have you seen Xiao Mei?” I raised my head, “Just there!” But I saw nobody there. “Where is she?” Her grandma was in great suspense. “I don’t know, just now I saw her there. Let’s look around.” We looked here and there, but we couldn’t find Xiao Mei. “Will she be in danger?” The grandma looked very grief. “River! Maybe she is there.” I cried. When we came to the river, the water was peaceful. “Maybe she has fell into the river.” The grandma screamed. She called some young people, and they jumped into the river. At that time, I felt very fear, and I was afraid that Xiao Mei was in the river.

Ten minutes later, a man cried, “I caught something!” Then we saw a girl surface, and she was Xiao Mei. “Xiao Mei! Xiao Mei!” Her Grandma stretched out her arms to her. She put her on the floor, placed her hands just above her stomach, pressed in and in. Water flew out from Xiao Mei’s mouth. Some time later, the doctor came; after examined carefully, he shook his head, “I am sorry. It was too late.” Her grandma burst out crying, “How could I tell your mother and father? Why did you go to the river? I have told you many times not to play with water. Why?” However, Xiao Mei couldn’t hear the painful call. She slept forever.

Now, many people have forgotten this event, but I can’t. Maybe I feel regretful. If in that day I played with Xiao Mei, the tragedy wouldn’t happen. So lovely a girl, she should grow up happily, but because of my negligence, she lost her life.

Hardships Are Bad for You【精】

Contrary to the very popular belief that people who have suffered from hardship in their lives have stronger personalities, some researchers claim that hardships can be very misleading. As far as I am concerned, hardships cast negative influences on people’s lives.

Firstly, people who suffered from troubled lives are easily misled. It’s found that while some people may indeed become more “hard-nosed” through adversity, the majority become less trusting of their own judgment. It surprisingly found that early negative experiences make people stronger in late life. Furthermore, the people who had experienced an adverse childhood and adolescence were more likely to come to believe information that is not true. Those people were more suggestible, and easily misled which in turn could affect their future.

Secondly, hardships cause pain and misery to people. When faced with adversity, people can easily get pessimistic and depressed due to the distress and agony brought by hardships. Some families end up in divorce and some depressed people even commit suicide or social crimes. This undoubtedly will bring about a series of problems to society at large.

In conclusion, hardships have direct adverse effects on both people’s mentality and their perception of reality. Therefore, in my opinion, they are absolutely not necessary in life.

Father, mother and elder sister have been working hard to support my schooling. They expect me to learn more knowledge and be capable of doing greater things for our country.I often prepare my lessons late into the night, for I know at the same time my parents and sister are weaving wicker baskets or processing tea for sle to make money to cover my expenses at school.

Last summer, when the college admission notice reached me,I was wild with joy while mother and sister shed happy tears.Twenty days later,my sister and I walked to the nearest town and there we took a bus to the nearest railway station in another small city.My sister would see that I took the train safely. When we reached the railway staton, sweat suddenly appeared on my forehead, yet a cold feeling crawled at my back and legs. The bag with the admission notice and 5000 yuan was missing!
