I have been working since 1996 for the People’s Bank of China, a Chinese version of the Federal Reserve, at its unique research institute of security printing, with the responsibility of designing the Chinese currency and the machinery to produce it. By engaging me in a variety of projects, the job afforded me ample exposure to cutting-edge developments in computer technologies, particularly in CAD software. I have, for example, recently redeveloped a purchased CAD (Computer Aided Design) software to make it more suitable for our own purposes. By adding our own part/subassembly to the database and make our own drawing criteria, we have achieved dramatically better efficiency.

My job performance, which has won me professional respect from all of my colleagues, was achieved thanks to the strong background I acquired as a student in computer science. My undergraduate GPA ranked first among the 63 students of classmates in mechanical department, for which I was awarded first-class and second-class prizes many times. My graduate GPA ranked among the top 4% of the 105 students in my year, which won me the “San Hao” scholarship every year during the three years of my graduate studies.

But I gave up the opportunity in order to gain more practical experience in the industry. The decision proved to be right, as it guaranteed me better access to sophisticated facilities, such as state-of-the-art personal computers. With the People’s Bank of China, I have thus accumulated solid expertise in many kinds of operating and application software systems, particularly in CAD. I now have a firm grip on the latest developments in computer science in China.

These questions are fascinating, and I would like to come up with my own answers to them.

To prepare myself for advanced studies in your country, I have persisted in improving my English proficiency. As demonstrated by my score of 700 (96%) in the verbal section of GRE, I now have an adequate command of English for undertaking graduate studies in your program.

Creative activities have always drawn my attention, from a young age I would draw, colour, cut and create! I’m still very much like this, I find myself losing track of time and working into the small hours. I enjoy the challenges which design presents and communicating my ideas as solutions.Being involved in extreme sports when I was younger helped to feed my creative cravings, it gave me a focus and allowed me to express myself freely. I wanted to represent these hobbies, that’s when I decided to design t-shirts that would display a connection with my friends and our common interests.

Prior to applying to study illustration, I have worked in job roles where I have learnt valuable skills. The majority of my experience being within the retail industry. I have learnt the values of team work, meeting deadlines, being pro active and working to ones own iniative. Working for high fashion retailers has also allowed me to keep my creative edge. I have personally made displays, dressed windows and mannequins, remerchandised walls, even down to placing fixtures requires industry knowledge and creativeness. It was at this point I realised I would really enjoy working within a more creative industry.

In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, writing music, discovering new bands, attending gigs, reading, photography, watching films and playing chess. A big desire of mine is to travel, I believe it is an important part of life. I know the places I have visited so far have left an impression on me, I am always keen to discover and explore. Without visiting new places and meeting different people, I would not have as much awareness of the world, I view this as an essential part of design. I also consider design to be a hobby which I am passionate about and enjoy thoroughly. It seems natural for me to take this to the next level as I see design being more than just a hobby.

Studying at degree level will give me the opportunity to respond to briefs, rather than self-initiating my work. Though more importantly I will also be given the opportunity to work with other designers, be it my tutors or fellow students. Working in a creative atmosphere amongst others who are able to give critique and advice, will be the most valuable area to me. 留学方案设计是你整个留学计划的灵魂，也是签证官用来衡量你留学是否真实合理的尺度，决定你的留学是否会成功和是否具有经济效益。如果你对留学方案设计感到经验不足，可以向“过来人”请教，也可以去专业的留学机构咨询。

具体操作是，在掌握留学基本信息和学校入学要求的前提下，结合自身的年龄、学历、经济能力、外语水平、所学专业、个人爱好等因素，设计出适合自己的一套科学合理的留学方案，对留学国别、院校、专业、入学时间等最终拍板确定。

其中，特别要对留学的投入和产出“价格比”和所选专业的未来就业前景要有明确的把握。等你设计好留学方案之后，就应根据所选定目标的入门标准立即开始全面的 “热身和补充”准备，包括：语言的学习与考试、留学所需的资金筹备、个人资历证明材料的准备、身体和精神状态的调整等。一等时机成熟，就可以申请学校了。

三.入学申请

收到国外学校免费的报名表之后，要认真完整地填写，随同个人学历证明、最近的学习成绩单、推荐信、个人简历、语言考试成绩单等资料寄往所申请的学校。此时，一般均需同时交纳一定数量的报名费用。由于中国学生对申请学校往往持随意的态度，有的甚至同时申请多达7-8所学校，而学校开出录取通知书后却见不到人来，因而有越来越多的国外学校倾向于向中国学生征收报名费了。

申请表格寄出以后，通常申请正式课程的需要等待1-2个月的时间才会有回信，申请英语学习短期课程的则快得多，一般只需2-3个星期。不过，还得加上邮件往来的时间，因此，为了给签证办理留有充裕的时间，建议你越早申请越好，一般提前1 年就比较从容，除了短期课程，一般离开学前6个月申请就显得非常仓促了。

另外，有些学校的课程是有年龄和英文程度等限制的，比如，大多数大学的语言中心对申请人都有年龄限制，一般要满16-17岁才可以，在申请时一定要注意。

在申请课程的同时，你可以向学校申请学生宿舍或寄宿家庭等住宿安排。如果你自认为学习成绩优异，特别是对于那些就读研究生以上课程的学生来说，可以一并申请国外的奖学金等对留学生的经济资助，说不定会给你个惊喜。

一般课程申请所必备的文件有：学历和成绩单，学历毕业证书，填写完整的学校申请表格，照片，财力证明，报名费;

四.办理因私出国护照、出境卡和准备签证资料

一旦你的入学申请获得院校批准，就会向你发出录取通知书，收到以后，可持录取通知书向户口所在地公安机关申请办理因私出国护照和出境卡。现在，我国公民因私申请出境的手续已经简化，一般公民凭本人户口簿或身份证就可以领取出国申请审批表，申请人只须提交与出国相关的证明材料即可。出国留学学生一般持因私普通护照。

与此同时，你可以着手准备申请国外入境签证所需的各种资料，包括个人学历、成绩单、工作经历的证明;个人及家庭收入、资金和财产证明;家庭成员的关系证明等。

五.办理公证

公证就是国家公证人员根据国家赋予的权利，按照法定程序，证明特定的法律关系或法律事实的行为。我国公民在申请自费出国留学时，必须要办理公证。这类公证属于涉外公证范围。你需要公证的文件有：出生公证书，学历、学位和成绩公证，经历证书，亲属关系公证，经济担保公证。

六.申请签证

办理好护照之后，可立即向拟留学国家驻华使(领)馆申请入境签证。申请时需按要求填写有关表格，递交必需的证明材料，缴纳签证费。有的国家(比如美国、英国、加拿大等)在申请签证时会要求申请人前往使(领)馆进行面试。

面试的目的是让签证官近距离观察和判断留学申请人的真实程度，即你是否一个真正的学生、你的留学目的是否纯正、你是否具备顺利完成留学的能力(主要看外语水平)，你有没有移民倾向。

七.体检，订机票，准备行装

一、学校地理位置

二、三年即可毕业
