I enjoy taking part in voluntary work such as my work experience in Uganda in August 20xx. The visit highlighted the countries many issues such as famine, poor infrastructure and the vast inequality between developed countries and developing countries. This led me to read The Bottom Billion by Collier which enabled me to gain a better understanding of the positions of the countries at the bottom of the global economic system by explaining the four economic traps. This suggested that Uganda is a failing economy because it is landlocked by bad neighbours, as well as recently being stuck in the conflict trap, from which it has now escaped but is still at high risk of falling back into due to its low income and slow growth. The Bottom Billion also analyses the effectiveness of global aid. This had lead me to research about how Britain’s overseas budget is spent and how the UN aims to deal with global poverty. I found the UN’s 17 new goals regarding sustainable development and economic policy very ambitious particularly ending poverty and hunger globally and providing quality education for all by 2030.

In March 20_ I completed a Future Learn course about how genes influence cancer development. I found this very beneficial as it built on my knowledge of genetics and how this has been used to produce technological advances that may eventually cure cancer. For this reason I am currently doing another online course about wealth and income inequality with the Open University. As an academic scholar I thrive on opportunities for independent research and work, and these courses have allowed me to achieve these aims.

The subjects I have taken through to A Level have taught me valuable skills; Mathematics has developed my problem solving and data analysis skills and studying Biology and Chemistry has allowed me to think critically and improve my investigative skills. I am taking part in the Biology Olympiad competition which utilises knowledge gained from inside the A level course to answer questions outside of the course curriculum.

I enjoy the challenge that leadership brings whether in the Community Service unit visiting a local school or in my role as a School Prefect and House captain which has meant I have learnt the importance of communication, teamwork and commitment. Furthermore, I have chosen to become an academic mentor which includes tutoring younger students. Whilst maintaining a strong academic record I also participate in School hockey and netball teams and I have decided to take part in the Young Enterprise scheme this year to improve my understanding of the business world.

Recently we looked closely at the medieval romance Parsifal, and an introduction to Goethe and Dante opened the door to European literature for me, making me look at the influence of these stories on the modern novel.

Having been fortunate enough to learn French and German from the age of 6, I decided to further my knowledge of French, and in 2003 I spent 3 months in Paris. Knowledge of another language and country has given me an insight into the French culture; I am grateful to have had the experience living with a French family, and creating a very personal connection with the country. I also spent two weeks there over the summer, once again with a family, having lessons, and finally performing a fairy tale in French.

I look forward to deepening my knowledge of the French language in order to gain greater access to French literature. I also anticipate the healthy combination of literary analysis alongside the work on French.

Having played the harp since the age of 9, I was fortunate enough to gain a place in the junior department of Trinity College of Music in 2005, receiving both instrumental and vocal tuition. I am currently working hard on grade 7 harp and grade 6 singing. Although initially a terrifyingly large commitment, I am grateful for the chance I have had to work in such an environment. Apart from developing my musical skills, it is also an opportunity to meet people and work as part of a team. Since a very young age - where all my friends were aspiring to become firemen, astronauts and rockstars - I have always dreamed of wearing a suit to work. I don't know what it was, but I guess I just identified all these men as being the real players in the world - driving fast cars and hitting it off with beautiful women. These guys - the lawyers, entrepreneurs and accountants - were all sipping champagne and living the high life. Of course, you don't have to wear a suit to be making money (look at Steve Jobs, for example), it's not all fun and games, and you have to be damn good at what you do, but my ambitions have remained the same. This is what I want to be, but money is no longer the sole object, in my opinion.

This has stemmed from my upbringing, where every morning CNN is put on the TV, stock portfolios lie in messy stacks around the house and political conversation runs rife at the dinner table. Every day I would hear my father talking about his business ventures and garnered a great interest. To me, the business world seemed entirely different to our regular one: it was a grandiose battlefield of thousands of opposing teams – a vicious free for all where the only objective was to win. Language like “slaughtering the competition” was frequently used, and I instantly knew that this game was more intense than any sport, more exciting than any video game and more fulfilling than any hobby. I once even tried my hand at business of my own – selling gumballs at school – which, to my surprise, was rather successful, if short-lived (regulated into the ground).

By the time I was beginning my IGCSE year I was absolutely itching to take a Business & Management course. I felt a lot of it come naturally to me, remembering all the terms and advice I had heard from my father. I am also very proficient (though less so) with a Mac system, and am now learning the more technical Linux. For a long time I studied in order to be able to build a computer from scratch, and have modified individual components. I also practice disk jockeying and also put this into practice where I controlled the lights and music for a concert for said friend. I would love to carry on these interests in university, possibly contributing to the college radio station and publications.

Whilst I do not consider myself a sporty person, I have previously competed in intramural field hockey, and socially play paddle and normal tennis. I jog nearly every day; however, it is just as much for meditating purposes as to keep fit. 香港留学签证之重要须知

申请人、随行受养人以及保证人即使已经提供所需的文件和材料，但入境事务处仍可能在有需要时要要申请人员再次递交更多与申请有关的证明文件和资料。

1、成绩单

先开出在国成绩单的申请，然后去注册中心交20元审查成绩单，确认了再去开真正的成绩单。正常的开成绩单大概要等15天才能出，要加急需要加钱，最多的是当天取要加300元。一份中英文成绩单原件加一份复印件大概在50元左右，每加开一次复印件需要加18元。成绩单原件自己拿着，如果加开需要把原件交给那个小楼，再等15天，复印件给你看之后就会现场封装起来。所以这一套流程下来THU的成绩单封好了看着还是很正式，很气派的。

2、英语能力证明

香港大学要求雅思成绩是6.5，每项不低于5.5。IELTS两年有效，每月大概会有三四次考试，网上报名，报名后七天之内缴纳考试费用。报名费加手续费1455，可以用招行的一卡通进行网上支付。IELTS从今年四月就取消了隔90天以上重考的限制，现在好像随时都可以考，考几次都可以，所以更加方便了一些。申请寄IELTS成绩单还是挺麻烦的，要去英国大使馆文化教育处填申请表格，带着成绩单原件，在三里屯那，建国门地铁下车打车过去还要十几分钟。考完半年内可以免费寄五份成绩单，普通的大概两周能到香港，只要花一两块钱邮费即可，特快的一份成绩单需要交90元左右。

Living in London, which is ranked as the number one city for business, innovation and culture, exposes me to the world of economics and business on a daily basis. It was a lecture from the NBCUniversal Vice President of Digital Marketing, Neil Wirasinha, that first opened my eyes to marketing and its potential. His lecture described the various marketing techniques used to promote the film Fast and Furious 7 and I was fascinated to learn about the interplay between traditional forms of marketing and newer digital marketing techniques, and how these overarching strands of the global campaign were realised for individual countries and audiences. I think it would have been exciting to work on this campaign which aided the film to break several box office records and go on to take $1.5 billion worldwide. I hope that one day I will be able to say I worked on such an inspiring campaign and that my marketing ideas could have the sort of influence and impact that would lead to such incredible success.

I currently study A-Levels in Media, Film Studies and English Language. I believe these have taught me many transferable skills as well as providing me with a strong understanding of marketing principles. In Media Studies, I have learnt about marketing strategies used by key media industries and have developed my own marketing campaign to accompany my practical production of a film trailer/music video. In FIlm Studies I have learnt about a variety of marketing strategies used in the film industry from utilising digital technologies for viral campaigns to how marketing can help British film survive in the shadow of Hollywood to how marketing can be used to help create success for foreign films. English Language has taught me about the power of words and has helped hone my ability to use language in a clear and effective manner, which is useful in order to create successful marketing campaigns that appeal to the target audience. All three subjects have helped develop my analytical and critical thinking skills as they allow me to analyse and understand the construction and influence of a variety of different media products and texts.

I was very pleased to win a place on my school’s Media Academy programme. This has benefitted me greatly and led to some fantastic opportunities, including a six-week paid internship at Global Blue Inc which is a tourism shopping magazine company. Through this internship I gained knowledge and experience of the world of work and gained a great insight into marketing and the importance of brands. During the internship I was tasked with researching different fashion brands from all over Europe and Asia, making phone calls to potential clients abroad and setting up schedules for my group. This helped develop my networking and organisational skills which I feel will be beneficial at university. I also volunteered at the Hunter Fashion Show during London Fashion Week which helped polish my leadership and communication skills. As this was a live event these skills were critical in order to ensure the smooth running of the event. Fortunately I remained calm under pressure and was thrilled to be able to contribute to the success of the show.

I am a conscientious, hardworking young person who is reliable and eager to learn new skills. I enjoy working in a fast paced environment and always bring a positive energy to the team. 3.终生性考试

留学法国怎么申请住房补贴

一、住房补贴

首先我们需要知道什么是房补?是由政府审核并发放的符合APL协议的补贴，需要申请者租的房子满足协议中的基本要求，针对所有在法国常住的居民开放申请。

需要保证住房的面积在9平米以上，而且配有暖气、自来水和卫浴等基础设施;个人的收入不能够超过城市的平均收入水平，一般留学生都可以满足，不过如果有兼职的话需要出示相关的证明。
